Kolkata, Dec 28 (HS): As Kolkata, the City of Joy is facing a massive threat of having one of the worst air qualities forcing more and more people to visit hospitals regularly for health check ups, the second campus of iLEAD, India's premiere institute for Media and Management studies in the city, has launched a unique initiative by introducing the city''s first ''Treasure Hunting Market '', based'' on the principles of selling recycling and reusable items. Announcing this new initiative a spokesman of iLead informed Hindusthan Samachar here today that since the city's bulk daily waste of more than 1000 tonnes was one of the major contributing factors to make Kolkata as one of the most polluted cities not only in India but in the whole world as well, the city''s first ever Treasure Hunting Market would become the latest and first of its kind initiative based on the use of recycling and reusable items of old materials to help reduce the city's bulk waste and deadly pollution. At the market, to be formally inaugurated in the second Campus tomorrow (Saturday, December 29) for a two day initiative before being held on every Sunday thereafter in the new year (2019), would have sundry goods, antiques and household items for sale, barter and traded at bargain basement prices. These gardens capture harmful gases and dust, helps produce more oxygen, besides improving the air quality and act as a heat barrier to reduce harmful solar radiation.
