The housing boom spurred by the requirements of office space and residential apartments is likely to pick up steam over the next few years and reach a new high by 2016. With the meteoritic growth in the Real Estate sector during the last few years, Property and Real Estate business has transformed to become more complex in structure and international in scope. This has definitely created a shortage of trained Real Estate professionals.
There is a Real Estate business opportunity of 100,00,000 crores (approx. US$ 2.5 trillion) in India spread over the next 20 years which is likely to grow at an annual rate of 15% during the next 20 years - much faster than the growth of the Indian economy.
According to Mercer, the world's biggest HR company, the Indian Real Estate sector has offered the highest salary increase during the last four years as compared to the IT sector with an average annual pay rise of over 25%. Yet most of the Indian Colleges, Universities and even Business Schools do not offer any structured Real Estate Management programs. iLEAD, Kolkata, with the support of CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association of India) Bengal is launching the first ever well-structured Real Estate Management program in India.
iLEAD has also entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Clovin Institute of Real Estate Development at the University of Maryland, USA for exchange of curriculum, participants and faculty members. This course will cover several areas of the Real Estate business such as Real Estate Finance, Marketing, and Project Management.
Course Objective:
The objective of the course is to impart India-specific Real Estate knowledge and expertise to Investors, Realtors, Promoters, Real Estate Brokers, Financial Advisors, Bank Officials, Tax Planners and Entrepreneurs among others associated with the Real Estate industry. The Real Estate Management program will be a flagship training program at the Institute. The program will have experienced industry experts as guest lecturers to enhance the learning process.
The course has been designed to develop trained professional Managers equipped with the requisite skills in Planning & Operations, Market Analysis, Site Acquisition, Due Diligence, Zoning & Site Planning, Building Design, Construction, Financing, Leasing and so on. Participants will also be encouraged to diagnose and solve Real Estate Management problems, understand approval & sanction process, acquire consultancy skills, and learn how to manage Real Estate projects and investments.
