The under graduate program in Media Science, Bsc. Hons. is a three year UGC recognized degree course under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) . Students coming from diverse fields are inducted into the world of communication through well designed orientation modules. In the initial semesters the students are given an overview of all the streams in the communication industry. Their foundation is built with theoretical modules on models of communication, laws governing the media and ethical practices. The theoretical inputs are reinforced and buttressed with industry exposure through field visits and internships. In the final semesters the students select their area of specialization from a wide range of choices.
The specializations offered are print media, video and television, advertising and public relations, radio, design, animation and page makeup as well as photography. The Bsc. Hons. Media Science course is one of the most comprehensive media courses in India.
ADDITIONAL COURSES AND iLEAD DIPLOMA Students can take up the short term professional courses offered by iLEAD. One short term course is offered completely free of cost to a regular iLEAD student. These courses help the students to be industry ready. Classes for these courses are held during weekends.
In order to impart holistic education to students and make them competent professionals in diverse fields, iLEAD goes beyond the curriculum and engages the students in challenging 'on campus' and 'off campus' activities like seminars, debates, conferences and other myriad cultural programs all aimed at creating a complete educational experience. At least twice every month, experts from different fields are invited to deliver guest lecturers to the students. Soft skills classes are conducted on campus to bring that extra sheen to the curriculum. Through iLEAD Diploma, the student is rewarded for his/her proficiency in all these extracurricular and co curricular activities. The student receives the Diploma at the end of the undergraduate or post graduate program as a value addition to the University Degree.
At iLEAD, students enrolled for any program get the advantage of dual certifications with Bsc. Hons. + iLEAD Diploma. The diploma will mention the non academic credit points accumulated by the student in the six semesters of the graduation program.
Highlights of the Diploma Program:
- A student can collect one credit point by imparting at least six hours of community service or being involved in co-curricular and extracurricular work.
- It is compulsory for every student to take up at least one online course offered by Coursera. The student will get 2 credit points on successful completion of one course.

A 60-hour training module for soft & life skills with focus on personality development (Compulsory for all students).

- Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (CBSE, ISC, A Levels or any other equivalent Board examination) with English as a compulsory subject.
- Students who are due to appear for Class XII final exams may be given provisional admission.

(Students to get soft skills classes, any 1 foreign language and 1 professional course* free of cost. Please note that all the fees including semester fees, library and audio-visual lab fees are subject to revision from time to time. Students failing to pay their fees for any semester within the due date will be charged with a late fee of Rs. 5,000 to be paid along with the semester fees. A Security Deposit of Rs. 25,000 collected at the time of admission will be refundable after deducting the Alumni Fees only on successful completion of the entire course. In case the student decides to discontinue with the institute before completion of the course in such case the institute will not be liable to repay the refundable security amount.
Note: Refund/Adjustments in fees will not be considered under any circumstances in case a student wishes to discontinue with the course at any point of time OR shows disinterest to undergo the professional course offered by the institute OR is not interested to obtain the gadgets and equipments offered by the institute as a part and parcel of the specific course.)
